My name is Grace Collins. I am a birth & postnatal doula registered with Doula UK and a qualified KG Hypnobirthing teacher. I live with my family, cats and dog on the Berkshire/ South Oxfordshire border.
I am committed to providing you with calm support and the guidance that you seek in order to make your birthing experience a positive one. I am passionate about preserving & reviving traditional midwifery practices that are nurturing in essence and to cover all birth eventualities. I love the saying “a better birth for a better world”. I also have extensive experience supporting mothers in a variety of births particularly water births, VBACs, multiples (natural and c-sections), caesareans and inductions.
I am a native speaker of Lebanese Arabic, and have a good understanding of French... though I do need some practice having left Canada about 20 years ago. I have also lived in the USA and Lebanon and made the UK my home 19 years ago. I love to travel and connect with people from all over the world. I also enjoy long hikes, meditation and being by the seaside.
I came to “doulaing” from a background in engineering which had left me searching for a more fulfilling profession. When I fell pregnant with my first born, a dear friend was training to be doula and she offered to support me. Having her there to guide me made a world of difference to my experience and sparked my interest in becoming a doula. A few years after my first birth experience, I trained as a doula with Nurturing Birth. I also trained as a breastfeeding supporter with a national organisation that I volunteered with for 5 years, helping mothers with infant feeding issues. In 2018 I trained to teach hypnobirthing in order to be able to offer mothers better support.
